Cascade Theater

“Magnetic”, “Captivating” and “Genuinely soulful” are just a few of the accolades describing Sean Jones. His interpretive performances of R&B and Soul classics have wooed fans from across Canada and the US. Sean was part of an R&B vocal group “In Essence”, a five member vocal group renowned for their spectacular harmonies and effortless ability to connect in both the R&B and Soul Music worlds. Legendary DJ/Producer FunkMaster Flex picked them up for management, and the song “You Will Never Have Another” became a mix show radio hit throughout America. Sean began performing and recording as a solo artist in 2008. His popular EP, “This is Love,” led to his first national tour. This is a free concert. Seats are limited. Attendance is mandatory! Visit the Schreder Planetarium at 1644 Magnolia Avenue to see:
"Two Small Pieces of Glass"
While attending a local star party, two teenage students learn how the telescope has helped us understand our place in space and how telescopes continue to expand our understanding of the Universe. Their conversation with a local female astronomer enlightens them on the history of the telescope and the discoveries these wonderful tools have made. The students see how telescopes work and how the largest observatories in the world use these instruments to explore the mysteries of the universe. The program does, of course, include some sky gazing. This show is ideal for ages six and older. These shows last about an hour. Register at ourapl.org by Tues. Feb. 21, 2012

Embark on an outstanding adventure as two children spend a night touring the solar system alongside their ships navigator...an astronomy book. Produced with state of the art 3-D animation and a 5.1 soundtrack with spectacular effects created at George Lucas' Skywalker Ranch. The program does, of course, include some sky gazing. ABOUT THE SHOW: Hairspray delighted audiences on Broadway by sweeping them away to 1960s Baltimore, where the ‘50s are out -- and change is in the air. LoveableTracy Turnblad has a passion for dancing, and wins a spot on the local TV dance program, The Corny Collins Show. Can this adolescent manage to vanquish the program's reigning princess, integrate the television show, and find true love? Directed by Jana Pulcini-Leard, who directed last season’s production of The Sound of Music, Hairspray showcases a fabulous cast of regional talent.
